T.D. Hall is a writer and visual artist based in Durham NC & Richmond VA, who explores how beliefs and knowledge are transmitted across time and space.
From the artist:
Altars is envisioned as a way to question who and what we honor in our daily lives. It seeks to reconcile and document the shifting role that the Black Church has in Black life. This exhibit invites community members to reflect on what replaces those spiritual pillars when modernity moves us away from the Church. What becomes sacred in the absence of that central institution?
